But first things first. Begin by mastering the weapons and armor you have now. Go hunt keltirs or wolves around the village. When you find weapons or armour on the monsters you slay, try to use them yourself. Items which are usless to you may be sold at a shop, to finance your futher adventures.
They will not ask you to perform a quest which is beyond your abilities, so if they refuse to offer a task, it means that your level is too low to provide a reasonable chance of success.
You should also know that there are quests that you may only perform once, but there are also repeating quests that you may complete several times.
When you target a monster, the monster's name appears in the upper central portion of the screen. The colour of the name tells you the monster's difficulty. For now, hunt those that appear in white or sky blue. those that appear in red or yello are much stronger than you, so leave them alone.
Finally, a warning -- you are not yet powerful enough to engage orcs. They are both stonger and more clever than they seem. Worst of all, they understand teamwork, and if you engage one orc others will come to help it against you. Even if you have a chance against a single orc, two or more will surely slay you.
<chat id="3">

If you have powerful companions, they may purchase equipment for you. Otherwise, equipment for novices is provided by the Temple of Shilen.
For now, you should seek to master the arms and armor you already possess. You will sometimes obtain arms and armor from the monsters you hunt. With some luck, you may acquire cloth shoes, apprentice's shoes, or a cloth cap.
The temple will provide you with two different blades, a dagger and a squire's sword. The dagger is swift, but its accuracy suffers, while the squire's sword (one-handed sword) is noticeably slower than the dagger, but strikes with greater accuracy. Remember that different weapons may call upon different skills in their use.
Return to me when you have achieved level 6. and I will teach you more about weapons.
<chat id="5">

You may begin to learn skills when you reach level 5. Training in skills may be obtained at the Temple of Shilen, where the masters and elders stay. The Temple is the largest building in the village, north of the village square. The masters there will teach you. First, however, you will need to acquire SP before you can obtain skills, SP stands for skill points, and like experience, they are earned by defeating monsters. SP are deducted when you learn a new skill. If you are curious about you SP, click the Character Status button and view the Status tab on the window. You must expand SP for each individual skill you acquire.
<chat id="6">

Speak to Master Harant or Master Trudy, and they will reveal teh skills and spells you may learn.
You must understand that skills are divided into active skills and passive skills. Active skills must be selected each time they are used, while passive skills provide a permanent increase to your basic abilities when they're obtained. As a Dark Fighter, you can acquire skills that increase your abilities.
When you reach Level 5, learn offensive active skills. Power Strike, Mortal Blow, and Power Shot are the first three offensive active skills you may learn. Power Strike may only be used with sword type weapons, Mortal Blow with dagger types, and Power shot with bow type weapons. Power Shot, in particular, can cause great damage, but consumes great amounts of MP, so use it wisely.
Finally, if you have a few spare SP, then learning Aura Defense may be a good idea. This skill increases your defense, and is

especially useful at your current levels, when your equipment is still rather weak.
